'Into the Woods' - 2015
This musically sophisticated show by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales, exploring the consequences of the character’s wishes and quests. The central characters of the Baker and his wife are cursed by a witch never to have a child, and they become immersed in the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk as they try to undo the spell. Everyone’s wish is eventually granted, but the consequences return to haunt them with disastrous results.
